Walk & Talk Therapy
The Bear Creek Greenbelt offers a variety of paved, gravel, and dirt trails, many flat and shaded, allowing easy communication.
Sometimes the best conversations happen when we're not sitting face-to-face. I offer walk and talk sessions in the Bear Creek Greenbelt, where movement becomes part of the therapeutic process itself. Walking side by side, rather than sitting across from each other, can lower the pressure of eye contact and make it easier to open up — for many people, the body needs to move before the mind feels ready to talk. The natural rhythm of walking also has a steadying effect, helping regulate the nervous system as we work through what's on your mind.
The greenbelt itself becomes part of the session. The changing scenery, the sounds of the creek and the trees, the fresh air — these sensory details give your mind something to anchor to, which often makes it easier to process difficult emotions or sit with hard topics without feeling overwhelmed. And if you need to pause, catch your breath, or just sit with something for a moment, there's no pressure to keep moving — we can find a bench or a quiet spot along the trail whenever that's what the moment calls for.
